This is an experimental patch.
Alpine supports several URL schemes. The most popular being http://. The list of supported schemes includes mailto:, nntp://, imap://, etc. There are, however, some internal schemes, which are useful for users. The main one which this patch supports is the x-alpine-help: scheme. This scheme allows you to link help text internally to your version of Alpine.
Many times one asks people to review some help information which is internal to Alpine, but getting to that information requires you to get through several screens before you can get to that information. This patch adds a way to access that information directly from the written message.
In order to add such links, one must use the URL scheme x-alpine-help, followed by a colon, and then a name identifying the help text requested. For example, x-alpine-help:h_config_reply_indent_string is a link to the help text of the option reply-indent-string.
Additionally, this patch adds support for the x-pine-help scheme, for compatibility with the old patch for Pine.
You can get the internal name of each help text by going to the help for the specific topic and pressing the N command.
